Are y’all watching Hannibal on NBC? It’s an incredible show. I understand why it’s not for everyone because the subject matter is pretty rough, but the execution is brilliant. It’s an example of a show where every department is at the top of their game creating something than transcends the normal TV watching experience.
It’s too bad the ratings are terrible. NBC finally canceled it after three seasons. And while they are airing the rest of the third season, they have banished it to Saturday nights. Even if I actually had an exciting social life, I’d stay in to watch it live. So when Sunday’s word ended up being Gesamtkunstwerk, I had to use Hannibal in my tweet because the show so perfectly embodies the spirit of the word. If you haven’t watched, the first two seasons are available on Amazon Prime, and highly recommend giving it a try (that is if you have a strong stomach).
And now for my 15 Minute Tweet Tales:
7/15 – Ugly dress. Horrid hair. Too fat. The club only admits the crème de la crème. Every night they turn her away. Every night she tries again.
7/16 – While she was touched by how many people wanted to help, most of the volunteers were de trop, getting in the way of the real work.
7/17 – He's now been a professor emeritus for longer than he was a professor, and the only one listening is his cats. And they only pretend.
7/18 – Deb was the fons et origo of the rumor that resulted in three dead bodies. She should have been horrified. She felt powerful instead.
7/19 – With breathtaking skill displayed in front of and behind the camera, #Hannibal is not just a TV show, it's a Gesamtkunstwerk. #truestory
7/20 – He whispers, "Hasta la vista." She opens her eyes and no one is there. She counts down the minutes until she can sleep and see him again.
7/21 – He's been in extremis several times – the inevitability of an adrenaline junkie – but this time death has come to collect final payment.
Play along and write tweet tales for the above words. If you’re willing to share, post them on twitter with the hashtag #15tt or add them below in the comments because I’d love to read them. Any thoughts about this week's tweet tales or #15tt words?
