For the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, I’m having Fun with Fonts. Each day I’ll feature a few I like based on either the look of the font or its name. I’ll also pick a font to inspire one of my tweet tales.
Whew, we’ve made it to the halfway point of the A to Z challenge! So in honor of being smack dab in the middle, here’s a font that is a double of itself. As I’ve been perusing the fonts, I’ve seen a bunch that had shadows or reflections of the letters, but none of them that screamed at me to be picked like this one. Why? Because for some strange, unknowable reason, there is a cartoon chicken perched on each letter. I’d love to know the thought process behind Mirror Chicken, but for now I’m just enjoying its wackiness. (Click the link for the bigger version to see the chickens more easily.)

Maxxi Dots Shadows because I think it’s cool how the letters are formed and even look 3D just from clusters of dots.
Magic Scribble looks like the stuff I doodled in my notebooks during class or meetings, so I think it’s funny that there’s a font that looks like this type of bored scribbling.
And speaking of messy fonts, I love that there’s one called
My Mistake. It takes the Strikeout format people use to be clever in blog posts and articles to the extreme by scratching out the entire letter.
For my tweet tale inspiration, I picked
Marooned on Mars. Not only did I like the name, but the design of the font reminds me of the title screens and posters for those old sci-fi B movies.
They collect a last sample of red soil & prepare to blast off. The ignition sputters. All they can do is watch oxygen needle creep to zero.
