Tweet Tales Tuesday Week 105
January 21, 2014
15 Minute Tweet TalesIt was pointed out to me on twitter the other day that many of my tweet tales involve adultery. I already knew I wrote a lot about murder but hadn’t noticed the bad spouse theme. Now I’m sitting here imagining all my twitter followers thinking I’ve buried my husband in my backyard for cheating on me. But they can rest easy because I’ve never been married (or at least that's what I'll tell the cops when they stop by). I guess it’s just that when trying to create a story in less than 140 characters, death and love gone wrong help pack a punch into such a short space.

And now here are my 15 Minute Tweet Tales for the week, including a few featuring adultery:

1/15 – They call his woodcarving hobby old fashioned, but his xylography earns him a mint when hipsters discover the t-shirts he sells online.

1/16 – His ostensible reason for buying lacy panties is to surprise his wife. She's definitely surprised when she finds him dancing in them.

1/17 – His stomach drops when he realizes it's the dense graupel falling not snow. Then he hears the rumble of an avalanche. Too late to run.

1/18 – He takes wife on junkets because he thinks she gets a thrill from meeting celebrities. Turns out a fellow reporter's giving her thrills.

1/19 – His sangfroid's admired at work, but when his son dies, his inability 2 mourn with his wife drives her into another man's comforting arms.

1/20 – No one understands why annoying Ann has the aegis of the school quarterback, not even Ann. She reminds him of his sister, gone too soon.

1/21 – After a day spent finding a bed for yet another child orphaned by drugs, her weltschmerz disappears when her puppy snuffles her neck.

Play along and write tweet tales for the above words. If you’re willing to share, post them on twitter with the hashtag #15tt or add them below in the comments because I’d love to read them. Any thoughts about this week's tweet tales or #15tt words?
