Tweet Tales Tuesday Week 61
March 12, 2013

15 Minute Tweet TalesAfter having the first repeat #15tt word last week, we had another repeat this week. Chaos. Chaos, I tell you. On March 11th, the next word in line in the Rare Words book was haptic, but it had already made its grand appearance last year on June 18th. So I skipped it, and we ended up with the super weird word acaroid instead.

Another piece of twitter fiction news is that Mal Keeble, a regular at the #15tt hashtag, wrote a fun post about dictionaries (wait, what are those again?) and how 15 Minute Tweet Tales helped him realize his writing slump wasn’t as bad as he thought it was.  I appreciated the shout out, but even better was finding out that my silly little challenge for myself is also helping other people with their writing.  Producing something every day, even just a tweet tale, keeps our creative muscles limber.

And without further ado, here are my offerings for the week:

3/6 – Stomach growling, she shuffled forward for a bite. The zombie was done in by her own gulosity, since the entrails were hiding a mine.

3/7 – She’d worried her online match would be a serial killer. Instead he tortured her with Hegelian dogma while she only wished for death.

3/8 – The kids torment Jim for his alterity. His mom says the adversity will make him a great man, but secretly fears a more tragic outcome.

3/9 – He buys her caparisons and takes her fancy places, but he’s no Richard Gere and there’ll be no happy ending after she drains his account.

3/10 – When the Wicked Witch steps off the plane, she starts to deliquesce and shrieks, “Why didn’t someone tell me Florida was so humid?”

3/11 – Changed out of suit. Felt acaroid bump on his back. Ran through ship screaming about Martian parasites. Remembered mole he had there.

3/12 – They carve their initials in the fagaceous bark: a sign of their eternal love. Tree falls after 10 years; they’ve been divorced for 5.

Play along and write tweet tales for the above words. If you’re willing to share, post them on twitter with the hashtag #15tt or add them below in the comments because I’d love to read them. Any thoughts about this week’s tweet tales or #15tt words?
